They need to know if you have any of these conditions: other heart problems liver disease thyroid disease low blood potassium or magnesium levels an unusual or allergic reaction to ibutilide, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives pregnant or trying to get pregnant breast-feeding

Ibutilide is for infusion into a vein. It is given by a health-care professional in a hospital or clinic setting.

arsenic trioxide astemizole bepridil beta-blockers, often used for high blood pressure or heart problems cisapride ginger hawthorn medicines for angina or high blood pressure medicines for asthma or respiratory problems medicines for depression, mental problems, or psychotic disturbances medicines to control heart rhythm pimozide probucol some antibiotics (clarithromycin, erythromycin, gatifloxacin, grepafloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, sparfloxacin) terfenadine ->tricyclic antidepressants
Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products. Also tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if you use illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works. Check with your health care professional before stopping or starting any of your medicines.
What side effects may I notice from receiving ibutilide?

Serious side effects include: fast or slow heart rate, palpitations irregular heartbeat Call your prescriber or health care professional as soon as you can if you get any of these reactions.
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome): headache increased blood pressure nausea Let your prescriber or health care professional know about this side effect if it does not go away.
What should I watch for while taking ibutilide?

Your condition will be monitored while you receive injections of ibutilide. Injections of ibutilide are not intended for routine maintenance therapy.
Where can I keep my medicine?

Keep out of reach of children.
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Vials should be stored in the carton until used.
